Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to EKO, provided by LDev AB (Reg. No. 559490-04086) ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, using the App is strictly prohibited.

1.1 Age Restriction

You must be at least 18 years old to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. Services Provided

EKO provides personal finance management tools, including budgeting, transaction tracking, and bank account aggregation services via third-party providers (e.g., Enable Banking).

EKO does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice and is not a bank, payment institution, or investment service provider. Any insights or categorizations provided by the App are for informational purposes only.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

4. Bank Connection & Data (Read-Only)

We use third-party open banking providers to connect to your financial institutions and perform data aggregation. By connecting your bank account, you grant us and our third-party providers the authority to access, transmit, aggregate, and store your account data for the purpose of providing the App's services.

  • Read-Only Access: The App's connection to your bank is strictly read-only. We cannot initiate transactions, move money, or modify your bank account settings.
  • No Credential Storage: We do not view, collect, or store your banking credentials (passwords, PINs, or 2FA codes). These are handled directly by the third-party provider and your bank.

4.1 Subscription Entitlement and Bank Access

Plan limits and active entitlement status may determine how many bank connections can remain active.

  • Cancellation and Period End: If your subscription is cancelled, access may continue until the billing period ends according to App Store / Google Play billing rules.
  • Expiration, Refund, or Downgrade: If entitlement becomes inactive, refunded, or downgraded below your connected-bank count, we may automatically disconnect excess or all active bank sessions.
  • Resubscription: If a bank session has been disconnected after entitlement changes, reconnecting your bank may require a new consent/agreement flow with the banking provider.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that interrupts, damages, impairs, or renders the App less efficient.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of LDev AB and its licensors. EKO is a registered trademark of LDev AB, registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms or where termination is required for legal, security, or operational reasons.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall LDev AB, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the App.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted under applicable law.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time.

11. Privacy, Data Protection & Security (GDPR)

Your privacy is important to us. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Data Collection: We collect only the data necessary to provide our services (e.g., account transactions, balances).
  • Data Storage: All personal financial data is stored encrypted directly on your device. Only the minimal user data required for authentication (login) is stored on our encrypted servers.
  • Zero-Access Policy: LDev AB and its employees are technically and organizationally restricted from accessing your bank account data or stored financial data, except where strictly necessary for security, support, or legal compliance.
  • Secure Communication: All data transmitted is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS/SSL).
  • Your Rights: You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data at any time. You can request data deletion directly within the App settings.
  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
  • Automated Access Control: We may process subscription lifecycle metadata (for example event type, entitlement status, and internal user identifiers) to enforce plan limits and automatically revoke unnecessary bank sessions.
